Best coffee shop in the Bay Area. Fabulous espresso, good food and pastries, lovely setting. Parking got a little sparse with most spots at the Barn no longer usable.

Perfect spot for a quick bite to eat. Ordered breakfast Panino over the phone to go and all was ready by the time I got there. Love how it came with some greens on the side. Great food. Great price.

Nice place for an affordable breakfast in a nice outdoor setting. Close to Stanford University and Hospital if you're visiting someone there or living on campus. Also offers a lunch menu.

Tootie's is a nice laid back brunch place. The menu seems inspired by a mathon of Giada De Laurentiis hosted "Everyday Italian" episodes, e.g., more than one Nutella ladened dish. Brunch places typically fall into one of two categories: dinners that use margine and other low quality ingredients and try to wow with 'value' and high-end brunch places that use real ingredients and try to wow with special sauces and unique flavors. Tootie's uses real ingredients, but serves fairly basic brunch food. Nothing we had tasted bad, but everything was significantly less flavorful that practically every high-end brunch place I've been. The best part about Tootie's is the atmosphere. It's a fairly quiet spot right by the mall on Stanford's beautiful campus.I recommend coming here, especially if you want something quiet and you don't mind if the food isn't top notch.

Omar and Carlos are great! Friendly staff and great food in a picturesque setting! The Lavender hedge surrounded by rose bushes are gorgeous in Spring!

I visit this excellent place every couple of days as I enjoy the good air that is part of this place. The staff is highly friendly and skilfull. The service is extraordinarily efficient. Needless to say, the food you eat is good. I have been there often and I was always satisfied. The rate is fair. I recommend this restaurant to to everybody.

Very good coffee choices, croissants, pastries and focaccia. Places inside are limited, but there are a few tables outside. Prices are a bit higher than average.

Cozy little spot, nestled away, no signage so you'll need to all around to find the right bldg. Great for a quick breakfast, very friendly, but not many seats so be aware if it's busy. Loved the Mada Toast, and Panino breakfast sangwich.

The food was fresh and good, the service was fast and friendly. I will be back to try more.

One of my favorite breakfast places in the Bay Area. Quaint feel. Delicious menu. Fabulous service and outside seating. The breakfast panini is delicious. Try it without the bread for a filling and tasty GF bteakfast.

A great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch when weather permitting. For people visiting the Stanford hospital and have more time than a quick bite, take a short walk here. Had a super enjoyable breakfast here. The Uovo alla Romana (egg on toast with olives and celery) was simply delicious. The courtyard is very pretty as well.

Good options for Italian themed breakfast. Would skip the drip coffee, wish they had a pour over option, espresso is the way to go. Also, bomboloni are not to be missed.

Tasty food in a historic Stanford building. I recommend sitting outside next to the lavender and getting the Pollone.

It's the famous BARN! I can't believe I haven't been here for so many years. Their decaf coffee is far better than the one La Baguette offers. Scones are bland in taste, but with good texture.

The food was really good. The casual cafe style dining was really nice. The omlette I got was good, and the toast was very very good. The toast was nice and crisp, while the jelly was really complementary.

Love coming here. Not so secret but a little bit of a hidden gem. Food is great, pretty much everything is tasty. Sandwiches and breakfast items are my favorites. Shakerato is one of my preferred drinks too. Stuff does tend to run out on the limited menu, particularly pastries and things, too.Seating can be a bit of a challenge on a nice day because of all three outdoor seating, but the wait never seems too terrible.

The hot chocolate here is excellent. It's a dark chocolate that's not too sweet but has a rich chocolate flavor. The ricatta pancakes were also excellent. The service is nice, seating is comfortable, and location is great.

The seating and atmosphere was nice! But the food was bland, no salt.. Tasted ok after requesting some salt. Maybe my expectation was really high.. Until food came out it was all good..

I would have rated this place higher but walking in with my mom who was using a walker, but we could not use the handrails because they're completely blocked by huge planters on both sides. It was cold and raining today, yet the air conditioner was on and the employees could not adjust it. The food was good, but we were freezing and ate quickly so we could warm up. No restrooms either. I think this place is set up more for take out.

Cute little place in a nice area surrounded by lavender. Small plates (soup and sandwiches). I had the dry cured beef sandwich and it was great. Staff were very friendly.

It's a nice place to go when you're in the med center. Good food. Plenty of parking. As a bonus the lavender makes a nice backdrop for photos!
